IRFAN HUSSAIN AND THE RED DOT MAN
TO BEGIN WITH

Me, lost somewhere as usual
Hey there
My name’s Irfan Hussain. I’m a humble guy. No really, I’m. Writing the about me page is the most difficult thing which I have written here.
I had a thing for art since… don’t remember. During my school days, I would hardly listen to teachers taking classes and would keep scribbling some doodles. As I grew the level of education was not getting any easier. I had to focus on exams, then college, from there on moved on to a job.
ALONG CAME PHOTOGRAPHY
Long story short, I used to take photographs using my camera phone and soon realized the difference between my shots and the normal ones which others around me click. Slowly my fascination with it grew and I moved on to investing in a camera and shooting on my own.
STREET PHOTOGRAPHY
It’s awesome. Where ever I go, I take my camera. It’s always with me in my back pack when I’m riding. I stop my bike, take my camera, and start walking. I love meeting people who I come across and the excitement that they show. Not all oblige when a random stranger pop up with a camera and asks for a picture. However, You will be surprised to see the number of people who interact well. Some ask me to share the prints. It’s difficult to full fill that request to all who ask, but I do take sometime out to revisit the locations and give them the prints as and when possible. The smiles that I get from them when I share the print is so rewarding. Trust me, it is.
HDR PHOTOGRAPHY
What I love about HDR photography is, there’s so much to experiment with this technique. Each and every frame that you try HDR photography on is unique and has to be treated in processing in a unique way. Every HDR frame that I work on is a learning step for me in HDR. My technique for creating HDR images keeps evolving as I keep doing more and more of HDR.

This is the shot of the water tanks on the terrace of my apartment building during a beautiful Sunday evening.
BLACK AND WHITE PORTRAITS
I’m a sucker for black and white photos, but it doesn’t work for all shots. And I love doing portraits. If done correctly, portraits almost speak.
DIGITAL ART
I love manipulating pictures and converting them to art work. I do this with my own images and also some stock images. Thanks to creative common artists across the web who let other artists like me to use their stock photographs and make art. There’s not limit to one’s creativity and imagination with digital art. I also use a lot of softwares and plugins on my street shots as well. I feel like a kid in an art class when I’m doing digital art. I love spending time in front of my pc, working long hours, with a cup of coffee, or a snack bowl to munch on and my lovely sennheiser headphones playing music. Good times.
PAINTINGS
I love making paintings out of my pictures and also using some stock images. It takes hours to do the smudging and painting using various brush available in Photoshop. But the end result turns out beautiful and that is all that matters. I use some filters in the Nik Colour Efex and topaz adjust plugins to give the finishing touches.
MORE ABOUT ME
People find me to be an odd guy, lost in my own world of thoughts and voices in my head. I think by now i must have put my parents to doubt me as their own offspring. Everyone else in my family is either a doctor or engineer or working for some multinational corporation abroad. I just do what i love to do. Just for the love part in it.
